Starting her first steps in school plays at the age of 5/6, then becoming a member of a Victoria BC based theatre company at 14, and growing fast into modeling at the age of 17. Her production and acting work has taken her all throughout Canada, Los Angeles, and New York, where she trained under the direction of William Esper during his last Summer Session at Esper Studio in 2016.

Therés Amee has traveled throughout the film festival circuits supporting her credits and work in ‘Sweet Virginia,’ Tribeca, NYC, The award winning fashion documentary, Emerging, at Seattle Fashion and Film Festival, and The Heather Project, where Therés played the lead role of Heather, which won the Award of Distinction at the Canadian Shorts Film Festival, and nominated Therés for best actress.

Prowess also completed the production of the short film, Bloom, directed by Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri, and sponsored the first ever, Women’s Illuminated Film Festival, where Bloom, screened March 2018, in New York.

Prowess most recently wrapped production of the short film, Blessed Be, which screened in competition, at The Chelsea Film Festival’s 10th Anniversary last October 2022 in New York. The film went on to win Honourable Mention at The Golden Lemur Film Festival, and screened in LA over the summer at the Micheaux Film Festival 2023. Blessed Be surrounds the underground world of human trafficking in India and is Prowess’ second literary option from Canadian author, Julie Mann.

Prowess’ next focus is to continue developing the feature film, Backshadow, which was the first literary option that Therés passionately pursued. Backshadow follows the stories of Aneeta, Kameko and Gregory as they heal their past cultural trauma through creative writing.
